With more than 20 years of experience in the auditing and technology industry, Mark works with public accounting firms to help them achieve the highest level of audit quality and system of quality management. Mark has provided inspection support, in-flight reviews, look-back reviews, and quality management advisory services with a primary focus on technology related audit risks. Mark has also developed and delivered training on internal controls and technology-related audit topics. Most recently, Mark performed a number of look-back reviews and provided audit support consultations for our clients in their audits of crypto-assets, focusing on application controls, data and reports, IT general controls, and third-party service providers.  

Mark brings a diverse set of experiences to JGA. As an Information Systems Inspections Specialist for over 10 years in the Division of Registrations and Inspections at the PCAOB, he conducted inspections of large and mid-market global issuer audits at firms in the US and foreign affiliate firms, focusing on examining quality control, design, and implementation of audit work over IT and service organizations in integrated audits. In addition, he played a key role in conducting quality control procedures, preparation of comment forms, and evaluation of Firm remedial actions. 

During a two-year rotational assignment within the Division of Registrations and Inspections, Mark transformed the technology program portfolio, project prioritization, and technology risk management program. He provided day-to-day oversight of the technology projects supporting the division’s registration and inspection processes. 

Prior to the PCAOB, Mark served as a technology audit Senior Manager at EY. In this role, he led audit engagements for large publicly held companies. His client portfolio included consumer business, manufacturing, and public sector industries. He started his career as a software implementation consultant, focusing the financial accounting configuration of SAP.
