About

Santina has more than 36 years of international experience in financial oversight, audit public policy, and stakeholder communication. She promotes the importance of the audit profession and audit quality and has been a frequent speaker on matters related to auditing and audit regulation. She has expertise in evaluating the quality control environment of domestic and international affiliates of global network firms and draws from this experience to advise firms on change management and compliance with global standards, including SEC regulations and PCAOB rules and standards.


She previously served 14 years with the PCAOB, most recently as a Deputy Director leading the Office of the Director in the Division of Registration and Inspections. Her key activities as Deputy Director included strategy, people management, communications and outreach, and oversight of the inspection program. Before being named to this post, she spent three years as an Associate Director in the PCAOB’s National Office, working primarily with the international firm inspection program. In 2006, she oversaw inspections for the West Region. Her key responsibilities included developing and implementing inspection methodology and reporting processes. She led, oversaw, and reported to the Board on firm inspections including the evaluation of firms’ systems of quality control. 


Santina is also a Certified Leadership Coach and applies her coaching strategies to our work helping firms improve their process, particularly with JGA’s Engagement Quality Review Coaching Program. 


Before joining the PCAOB, Santina worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers in San Francisco, and Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, she led the technical professional department and advised partners and staff on auditing, accounting and related policy matters. Earlier, she worked as a manager developing accounting standards at CPA Canada (Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants). She began her auditing career with Ernst & Young Canada (formerly Clarkson Gordon).


Santina resides in Washington, D.C. She is an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation. She received her Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, her Honors Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, and her MBA from the ESSEC Graduate School of Management, Paris, France.
